Sam Cooke

Just listen to "Sam Cooke Live at the Harlem Square Club, 1963." It is music at its best and most exciting.

I have been seeing Ken Meier's work around quite a bit lately. He has some great typographic material as well as some really nice conceptual work. One highlight is the "Fascination" where he printed statistics of LastFM over the Digital Millenium Copyright Act. Beautiful.

Great call the on Harlem Square Club album. It change the minds of those who thought Sam provided "watered-down" soul, not aware of his intention to target a cross-over market. His true fans, as well as the artists he worked with, were well familiar with this more soulful side of Sam.
